Clindoxyl for acne

Thank you so much for your letter. I am happy to give you advice and guidance based on my own experience and my daily work with skincare and acne.

Clindoxyl, which you have been given by your dermatologist, contains the ingredient Benzoyl Peroxide, which is considered to be an effective ingredient for battling acne-bacteria in the pores. Unfortunately, the ingredient is not permitted to be used in make-up in Europe and is therefore only allowed in pharmaceuticals.
But it is important that you allow the Clindoxyl (and the ingredient Benzoyl Peroxide) to work for a couple of months before you decide whether it has an effect on you acne or not.

Acne and make-up

You write that you do not go out with your friends very much, which I am really sorry to hear. I know that it is difficult, but if you keep having a negative focus on your skin disorder and shut yourself out, you will stress your body in a negative way. Smile at yourself, be happy and remember to enjoy your life.

As you mention yourself, you can try to cover it up with make-up – even if that will not make the problem go away, and you should remember to let your skin breathe every once in a while. But it sounds like your self-esteem would need you to cover up your acne when you are out around people. But it does not sound like you are doing it correctly (with make-up you will be able to hide even the smallest imperfections). When you buy your make-up, try to ask the sales clerk for help. They will certainly be able to help you with what you need and with how you can use it the best.

Roaccutan – pill cure for acne

It is almost winter and the pill cure for solving blemishes that your dermatologist is suggesting is probably Roaccutan. Roaccutan is a strong vitamin A cure, which you do during the winter, and it is very effective for many people, who suffer from acne. But I know of several patients, who do not experience any change after months with Roaccutan.

Personally, I would only recommend Roaccutan as the very last option – if you have tried every other option in skincare and lifestyle changes.

In conclusion, I will give you my best advice for scars from acne and marks. Prevention… You have to be careful and not pick at your breakouts and so create more irritation and marks on your skin.
